Welcome to the 2010 consultation on the Allotments Strategy for Taunton Deane
This document responds to the growth in demand for allotments and has been developed with a steering group comprising Councillors, the National Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardeners and TauntonTransitionTown. It is based on consultation with existing plotholders and Allotment Associations.
An Allotment Strategy with its associated Policies is needed to make sure that land is provided for allotments in new housing developments, that money is secured from small developments to improve existing allotment sites and ensure that facilities are developed and managed in the most appropriate way to the growing community’s needs.
The Council needs your views on whether the draft Strategy will fulfil this role. Please read through the document and then respond to the questions at the end.
