Welcome to the 2010 consultation on the Community Halls Policy for Taunton Deane. A Community Halls Strategy with its associated Policies is needed to make sure that provision is made for community halls in all new housing developments, that money is secured from small developments to improve existing halls and ensure that halls funded by public money are developed and managed in the most appropriate way to their community’s needs.
Whilst this document was adopted by Taunton Deane Borough Council’s Executive in August 2008 following consultation with stakeholders, in order for it to become a formal part of the Local Development Framework it is necessary to expose it to a wider consultation audience. For this reason the council asks that you read through the document and then respond to the questions at the end.
